With the popularity of smartphones in recent years and the increase in content for high-definition,high-quality mobile devices,such as HD video and photo-quality books,there is a greater need for viewing high-resolution images on clear,bright smartphone dislpays.In order to fullfill this need. Hitachi Displays has developed a 4.5-inch high-definition(720×1280)IPS LCD module for smartphones.This LCD module achives a high resolution(329ppi*1) that approaches the limits of the human eye,while also using newly developed technologies for high aperture ratio pixels and improved backlight efficiency in LCD displays to prevent the reduced brightness that occurs when desigining high-definition displays with superior color reproduction.
