The Hitachi Displays Group promotes environmental activities based on the following slogan and basic policies to promote environmental preservation activities that contribute to the achievement of sustainable society that exist in harmony with the environment, while also establishing global environmental management with an advanced environmental mind, through the development, design, manufacture, and sale of IPS LCD display products.

2. Environmental Policy |

Build an environmental management system based on ISO14001 standards, and set up an implementation structure to promote continuous improvements to the Hitachi Displays Group environmental management system. |

Observe international, national, and local environmental regulations, and other related requirements that the Hitachi Displays Group voluntarily decided to accept, making every effort to prevent environmental pollution. |

Consider all environmental aspects throughout the lifecycle of all products, and focus on the following important points as environmental preservation activities for the Hitachi Displays Group.

Promote energy conservation and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, in order to prevent global warming. |

Strive to make effective use of resources and control the volume of CO2 emissions, and also designing and developing eco-friendly products, in order to reduce the impact of our products on the environment. |

Promote the recycling of resources and separated disposal of waste, and strive to dispose of waste in an appropriate manner, in order to reduce waste. |

Promote safety management and reduced emission of chemical substances, in order to prevent environmental pollution. |

Strive to conserve and re-use water, and control the quality of waste water, in order to protect water resources. |

Study and manage the effects of manufacturing on the environment, and also making environmentally related improvements, in order to consider the preservation of ecosystems. |

Strive to educate employees about environmental awareness and release information regarding the environment, in order to improve further cooperation with stakeholders. |

Set environmental objectives and goals and promote environmental management, in order to achieve these environmental policies.
Regularly review environmental objectives and goals once every year.
