All employees within Hitachi Displays and its affiliates shall strive to implement and improve environmental conservation in accordance with the following environmental policy. Hitachi Displays is deeply aware of the environmental problems and concerns with the development, design and manufacture of its flat panel displays and how these products and services relate to the global environment, and will give top priority to achieving harmony with the environment through the promotion of environmental activities in accordance with the following slogan and environmental policy.

We will construct an environmental management system (EMS) and promote environmental conservation activities through the participation of all our employees, and strive to continually improve this EMS and prevent pollution in order to achieve a better environmental performance.

We will comply with all environment-related laws concerned with environmental conservation as well as the ethical codes of industries to which we have given our agreement.
(3)
We will show environmental consideration in relation to our business activities, products and services, and implement the following key measures in our environmental conservation activities:
(a)
In order to try to prevent global warming, we will promote energy conservation and strive to reduce the output original unit of CO2.
(b)
In order to try to reduce the amount of waste after final treatment, we will accelerate waste classification and recycling.
(c)
In order to protect water resources, we will promote water conservation and reuse while striving to maintain and control the quality of drainage.
(d)
In order to prevent environmental pollution due to chemical substances, we will carry out thorough safety controls and further reduce the amounts used.
(e)
In order to reduce the environmental impact of our products, we will try to alleviate the environmental burden from the product development and design stages onwards.
(f)
In order to prevent further depletion of the ozone layer, we will promote the replacement of equipment using specific CFCs to those using CFC substitutes.

The key measures in our environmental conservation activities will be represented as environmental aims and targets, which we will strive to promote.
(5)
We will periodically reexamine our environmental policy and environmental aims and targets in accordance with EMS audit results and environmental impact assessments.
(6)
We will distribute this environmental policy to all of our employees and provide it in document form to external parties upon request.
