3. Cogeneration system

(1) Outline

This is a system designed to reduce CO2 emissions, a factor in global warming, by utilizing the waste heat generated simultaneously with electricity to generate steam and thereby improve overall energy efficiency.

(2) Features

Energy efficiency: 80% (electrical power: 28.4%; steam: 51.6%)
Note: In the case of commercial power generation: 35%
Reduction in energy consumption: 12%
Reduction in CO2 emissions: 22% (470 t/month) Operation launch: September 1998

(3) Major specifications

Item Specifications
Main equipment Typhoon M
Power output 4,500kw class
Steam output 11.0ton/h
(All steam is used for production)
Steam pressure 10kg/cm2
Fuel City gas 12A
NOx reduction method Purified-water injection
Regulated NOx amount 30ppm
