1. Moving toward zero-emission waste

 
We are currently promoting the recycling of the large amount of waste we produce, particularly glass, sludge and oil, and promoting the move towards zero-emission solid waste (less than 5t after final treatment).

3. Awarded 3R Promotion Committee's President's Prize

 
(3R = Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)

Hitachi Displays has received this award every year from 1999 to 2002

Hitachi Displays has been awarded the 3R (formerly Recycling) Committee's President's Prize in consecutive years from 1999 to 2002, in recognition of the significant results achieved by the various measures and continuous activities in our pioneering recycling campaign.

This prize aims to encourage the promotion and awareness of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle projects by rewarding workplaces that consistently produce strong performances in their leading 3R activities.

The ceremony for the Prime Minister's Prize, the Government Ministers' Prize, and the 3R Committee's President's Prize was held on October 23, 2002 in the presence of Shinzo Abe, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary, and Chikage Ogi, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The following recycling measures were evaluated when awarding these prizes:

  • Reuse of glass insulation and tile materials

  • Distillation recycling of used organic materials

  • Reusing waste paper

Through the implementation of these measures, Hitachi Displays has made considerable progress in recycling.
